Product Description
Gondo is one of three factories managed by the New Kiriti FCS in Murang’a County, on the western slopes of the Aberdare Mountains. The region’s cool temperatures, high elevation, and deep red volcanic soils support the dense seed structure and vivid acidity that have made Murang’a one of Kenya’s most respected coffee producing areas.
The 727 contributing farmers cultivate coffee on small plots averaging around 250 trees. Cherries are selectively hand sorted before undergoing Kenya’s traditional washed process: pulping, double fermentation, extended soaking, and slow drying on raised beds. This meticulous processing style is central to the clarity and structure associated with high quality Kenyan coffees.
Compared to AA lots, AB screen coffees are often slightly smaller in bean size but can show remarkable sweetness and balance. In the cup, this lot is refined and layered, with notes of molasses, lime, and mango supported by a juicy texture and floral complexity.
